✨ The Indus is the spine. Rising near Tibet, it runs the entire length of the country and waters the plains that feed it — the same river that named India, Sindh, AND Hindustan.
✨ Three mountain ranges collide in the north — Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindu Kush meet in Gilgit-Baltistan. Five of the world's fourteen 8,000-meter peaks are in Pakistan.
✨ K2 (8,611 m) is Earth's second-highest mountain and, by climbers' reckoning, a harder prize than Everest — nicknamed the Savage Mountain.
✨ Hunza Valley — apricot orchards under 7,000-meter walls, ancient forts at Baltit and Altit, and legendary longevity lore. The valley floor sits at 2,400 m; the view goes up another five kilometers.
✨ Nanga Parbat (8,126 m) — the 'Killer Mountain' anchoring the western Himalaya, with the planet's biggest single vertical rise: the Rupal Face, a 4,600 m wall. Fairy Meadows sits at its feet, named exactly right.
